Accolades

Daniel Volovets's "Masquerade" is a sublime symphony of exquisite tenderness and Baroque fireworks wrought on guitar with effortless virtuosity. He employs an exhilarating and haunting palette as his guitar evokes the spirits of Laurindo Almeida, Astor Piazzola, Andres Segovia, and Lenny Breau... Close your eyes and be carried away...
-Acoustic guitarist Tim Sparks
Daniel’s sensitivity, gorgeous touch, and wide expressive range leaves no doubt as to his mastery of the guitar. But more than that, “Masquerade,” a collection of ingenious arrangements and original songs, reveals a brilliant composer and musician who has subsumed his influences into a compelling voice of his own.
-Jazz guitarist Thomas Nordlund
Daniel presents a refreshing fusion of flamenco and classical sensibilities via beautifully dramatic pieces on "Masquerade." Each one tells a different story. Ole, Daniel!
-Flamenco guitarist Orhan Anafarta
"Masquerade" is a very nice recording with a warm, close sound; each track has a different atmosphere and presence, which brings a variety of colors to the album. The Latin, Spanish, and flamenco influences are spread through the whole set of pieces with passion and imagination. Congratulations on a beautiful job!
-Classical guitarist Sergio Assad
Music is a deeper and more profound ancestor of our languages and that is what I feel when I listen to "Masquerade" and absorb this new album full of nostalgic harmonies. Sometimes, it brings me into a trance where I get images from my childhood, staring out of a window and looking at trees that are aware of every drop of rain falling from their leaves... this kind of awareness is very important when playing music, as everything has to be clear... your ears, your rhythm, the fingers, the body and soul have to be relaxed, and you can only reach that point by being aware. Daniel has the capacity to be aware of all these things and that is the reason why he makes you so curious and fascinated when a piece ends to hear the next one…
-Flamenco guitarist Myrddin de Cauter
